I would like to welcome all of our participants, teachers, sponsors, friends, and fans back for another remarkable season. This past year ADC was coined, "Ballet's Finest Student Competition Around the Globe" by the Shanghai Daily News.
I've spent the greater part of my life in service to the dance community at large. First as a performing artist, I was enthralled with the notion of connecting with an audience. If I have learned anything through these years, it's the way you make people feel, that's remembered. People will slowly forget how your pirrouettes were just so... or how your grande allegro soared with both strength and grace, but how you made them feel will embed forever.
Now as Director, I see the value of this approach even clearer. Many organizations tend to recognize their #1, and let the rest fall through the cracks. It has always been a main objective for myself and the rest of the ADC staff to develop ample connections. Those that enter ADC, feel respected, linked to a growing history, and most importantly, recognized and valued.
This whole social networking wave has this idea. But just think if you "actually" socially networked on an interpersonal level, instead of just walking past people without making eye contact or simply clicking a computer button. Perhaps one day you will want a job with a specific person or company, and wished you had made the effort when you had the chance.
Get Connected. Start with ADC.
Our network is growing exponentially into this 7th year.
This is an event that features Top teachers & students of the dance world,
and brings them to the same spot, at the same time.
